Our little family consists of me (Tess), my husband Caleb and our little 17- month old girl, Peaches Wilde. There is no shortage of love, adventure, creativity and chaos in this little abode of ours. We live on the northern beaches, Sydney, in a two-bedroom apartment by the sea. Caleb is a stuntman (yes you heard right) He does crazy tricks for movies and TV shows for a living, whilst I’m a full time mama – designer and somewhere amongst it all I run a vintage label, The Gray Girls, with my sister Sharee. We love to socialise and host dinners (where Caleb cooks and I set the ambience and light candles) We enjoy quieter nights too… at least once a week we play Skip-Bo and enjoy a glass of wine whilst listening to Caleb’s extensively and carefully curated Spotify playlist. We have a passion for people and the friendships we have been blessed with. Creativity is something we try to make a daily habit of whether it be taking a photo, picking an outfit for the day or working on a design project. Creativity spurs creativity…. Our life isn’t perfect but we love what we have been given!

What inspired the decor of the room?
I’d love to say that we had this grand inspirational plan when we put Peaches room together, but in fact it was more like it had a mind of it’s own and came together without us thinking to much about it. My Husband (Caleb) built the beautiful storage shelves just before we moved into our 2 bedroom apartment and we were kindly given the beautiful wooden crib from our friends at Mr and Mrs White, so these 2 pieces led the bedrooms asthetic, along with the rusty red Teepee that was a gift from my best friend that was given to us before Peaches was even born. From these 3 pieces the room has taken on it’s own magical play ground…

5 must haves for any kids room?

1. A tee pee, or some sort of cubby
2. Comfy rugs and pillows to create a welcoming asthetic
3. Lot’s of storage units, baskets, boxes and shelves
4. Tactile objects to enhance play with the simplest of things eg: Pine cones, sticks, feathers
5. Natural light…. I feel light plays a massive part to creating the perfect space for your little ones!

Favourite stores/online shops for kids decor?

Majority of Peaches toys have been gifts or things I have gathered at thrift stores but if i was to go crazy and buy a whole heap of kids toys I would most likely shop at www.littlecottonwood.co
