Inspiring mum – Trine

Alfred 5
Selma My 2
We have been together for 7,5 years. We like to live in the city and use all the opportunities it brings. We have a summerhouse up north near the ocean where we spend a lot of weekends during the summer.
We all love food, books, toys, clothing, animals and just being together.
Location? We are a little family living in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Occupation? My boyfriend is working as a lawyer and I am a nurse. I am working as a supervisor at a hospital and I am giving guidance to all patients, relatives and the employees at the hospital.
My 5 favorite items/things is:
My ring – I got it from my boyfriend when I gave birth to my son. Now there are two diamonds in it for both my children.
Bracelet from my mother. She got it at her christening. She passed away 4 years ago after cancer and all the items I have from her are all very important for me.
My Arne Jakobsen “Myren” chairs. I love design and I think Danish design is very beautiful and classic.
My iPhone
What are you most passionate about? I am very passionate about my children and it is important that they are having a happy life.
Do you have any hobbies/things you do in your downtime? I love kids fashion and my heart is beating for all the small brands. I love seeing people create and start seelling their work. I use Instagram as an inspiration and I think it is a good way to promote your brands, especially if you take beautiful pictures. I buy almost all my childrens clothing from small buisness I have spottet on instagram. But I also like to style the smaller brands with fx H&M and clothing from Zara kids. I think to combination looks perfect and unique.
Also I love to decorate our home and it is very important for me that it is personal and that the kids feel that they can play.
How would you describe your family? Our family are pretty normal I guess. My boyfriend and I come from very different backgrounds and sometimes it is a bit difficult to unite, but it is getting better.
We dicided that I am working part time because I will be able to pick up the kids early from daycare. We are a strong family and we does everything by  ourselves.
How did becoming a mother change you? When I became a mother I lost my own mother when my son was 7 months. It was a crazy time. I was full of happiness and joy and at the same time I was so unhappy and very very sad. It was so difficult and sometimes I fell that I have forgotten my sons first year. That makes me so sad.
Life is so fragile! And we have to live it the best way and that we are doing.
Becoming a mother has turned my world upside down – in the good way. I have let go of all the unnecessary in life and are focusing of the important stuff. Becoming a mother has also made me so vulnerable and at the same time very strong. It is the most crazy thing in the world to grow a baby and being a mother!!
What is the best part of being a mother? The best part is the LOVE. The unconditional love!
Naming your children is always so difficult (or maybe it was just me!) Was it easy to pick your child’s name and why did choose it? Choosing our kids names was pretty easy. We had a short list and was narrowing it down and we were sure of both the names while they were inside me. My mother called me My when I was a child. Thats why my daughter is called Selma My. It is from the charcter from the cartoon Moomin. Also it was important that the names were internationally.
Has your personal style changed since becoming mother? If so how?

Actually my style is the same after being a mother. I love fashion and like to wear clothing that makes me feel good. My essentials are jeans and a simple t-shirt with some nice shoes and then I love my jewelry. My friend is a Goldsmith and I have some of her beautiful simple cool personal jewelry. Favourite thing to do as a family?

I love weekends (surprise) I love hanging at the playground with my boyfriend and a cup of something in our hands, while watching the kids play.

What has been the most memorable moment for you in motherhood so far?

The most memorable moment in motherhood is seeing my kids together, they love each other so much and Alfred is the best bigbrother. When they first meet each other and the way he was looking at her, still touch me so much.

What are some baby essentials every new mother needs?
Soft body’s in wool and silk
A blancked
Soft little bonnets
Mobile with a little lullaby
A cuddle cloth
What are some of your favourite shops/websites for baby wear?

Some of my favorite kidswear webshops are:

They are all fabulous and for both boys and girls – and it is all made with love and in a playfull way.
What is the one thing you want to teach your children?

I want to teach my children to show their feelings and to talk about problems, so they dont stay inside the mind. To be grateful for the small things in life.

Have any advice for newly mothers/mothers to be?

Enjoy the moment and don’t rush it. Newly mothers are often looking forward to the next step in the babys development instead of just enjoying it right now.

You can follow me at Instagram @salonodk. I also have a blog – its about kids fashion, but at the moment I dont have the time for it.
